Hi all - I usally post over in the pencil forums of JD and
Mike, but I felt like a bit of a break from the hyper-detail
pencil work I usually do. I have spent many years doing
watercolour work, so it was really refreshing to go back
to a loose, free form media. As good as a holiday! It
was a bit of fun.
This is just a quick study of some autumn fruiting
pomegrantes from my garden - done with a limited pallette
of Windsor Lemon, Windsor Blue (Green Shade (which is
really blue!
)), and Permanent Rose. I have always enjoyed working
with a very limited pallete of colour. The detail work
was done in Windsor Black india ink with a fine mapping
pen. The paper was a Fabriano hot press, 300gsm. Took
about 3 hours, not counting the drying time. And yes,
I always stretch my paper first.
hmmm. wonder how these would look in pencil? watch
out for update over on JD's forum - if we get a new
provider!
