And I just can't hide it ! I'm about to lose control and I think I like it! YU HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

You're probably thinking : what a

I am beginning at watercolor. I've been beginning for a few months now but since I rarely have the time to paint, it's taking me a long time to learn the basics! So comments please!
I need your help.

THese are painted with three colors French Ultramarine, Alizarin Red and Aureolin Yellow. I figured since I am new at this I should try to keep things simple. Well, here the landscape that was so small in the other post. This landscape was totally out of my head - I just went with the flow. The candles were from an exercise in a watercolor book.

I thank you all for this wonderful site!

Best Wishes
Enia

You Clown! - no seriously it is fun to see someone getting such enjoyment from new discoveries.

...a limited palette is all you need- you can get almost every colour from just a few tubes - I know one well-respected watercolourist here in Oz who travelled all through Europe with only 4 tubes of colour - and he said he rarely needed the 4th one.

Your landscape is lovely. I would only suggest maybe a few highlighted or brighter spots in the foreground grass - just to give you a greater feeling of depth and recession. Next painting perhaps be a bit more aware of the white paper, leave a few more areas of the natural white showing through. Have you tried using liquid frisket yet? this paints on a waterproof coating, and after you have finished your washes, you can remove it to expose the white paper.

Keep up the good work, and long live Artpapa!

Hi Linda!

Thanks! Yes. I won't deny it. I am a and proud of it. LOL

What is all this talk of Artpapa closing down? I was away for a while - busy with work and school and when I come in here I hearf these bad news. I hope they find another server because this website is soo special. I've learned so much here and from such wonderful, talented AND CARING artists. Including yourself!

I'll cry if this website disappears. Maybe we should have another meeting spot. Maybe at Sibley's website? And then he could change the name of his site to "Papa Sibley".

I really enjoy painting with any medium. THanks for the input - I'm just starting with this and I need it. Right now I have no time to produce anything but pretty soon I'll be here buggin everybody again.

See you soon!
