"What should I do to post bigger images?"

Hello everyone!

I was trying to post some watercolors but when I set them at 72 dpi they get super small. Could anybody tell me how to post bigger images?

Hi Enia, I don't normally visit the watercolour forum but I saw your question about image sizing. I don't know what you're using (Photoshop or Photohouse?) but I always save my files at 72 dpi, then under Image Properties, I specify 500 pixels - or 3 or 4 inches, for width, then I adjust the image quality after saving it until the file size is reduced to 70 KB. I always open the file up again and ask it to zoom to 100%. The size that the image appears will be size it appears on screen here in the forum.

Of course this is all done for greyscale drawings - I know that colour takes up much more memory and maybe the process is different (?) Hope this helps!!

Hey Becca

Thanks a lot for the tips. No matter what I do I don't seem to get it right though. Oh, well.

Here's one more step.

hi linda,..i love seeing some color...here is the perfect way to bring in color images full size www.spinwave.com after you download the free trial,.and open the program....just open a picture with it,...and click the crunch button.be carefull i think it starts with a filter turned on....turn that off or it wil look fake..it wont look like it done anything to your jpg but it gets rid of the un needed stuff,.....it makes the file size smaller...without shrinking it...or losing any quality of the image....you will figure it out.....it only takes about 15 minuites of playing with it to figure it out.........this forum onl accepts 70.kb....but you could bring in an image the size of your screen with it...that is only 35 KB,and still clear as a bell..........if you right click on a jpg...instead of opening it....see where it says "properties"....that shows the file size,...even something small could actually be huge file size......i dont understand it myself....but with an image cruncher....all you have to do is crunch it....then it gives you 4 to pick from,,,,pick the best quality 1st,,it wil automatically save it to your desktop,.....9 times out of to that will be small enough to bring in,....just right click it and check the properties to make sure its smaller the 70 kb....
just thopught id stop in and say hey to everyone.
its only like 40 bucks to buy the disk...but if you have ps you may not need it.
